Here Comes Reputation!
Early readers wanted for my debut novel
Some of you already know, I’ve had a novel in the works for the last thirteen years.
Some of you have heard, I finally have a launch date for this novel!
Some of you figure that might mean I’m looking for early readers for a little R&R (i.e., read and review).
If so, you figure right.
If Reputation’s blurb hits the spot for you, or you’ve read Call It Anything But Love and believe you’d love the opportunity to read and review an advance-of-publication copy of Reputation, I’ve got a sign-up-for-it link below.
Here’s what’s on the back-of-the-book:
REPUTATION - the blurb
In early noughties Trinidad, Asiyah, a young Muslim woman, embarks on a clandestine relationship with older, irreligious Cisco. Defying her family’s warnings and expectations, she realigns her spiritual compass to be with her lover. But when her reputation is threatened by a stranger with a vendetta, and her affair becomes a difficult entanglement to escape, Asiyah must face a make-or-break reckoning to reclaim what is hers.
‘A fascinating exploration of faith, family and female independence … Thought-provoking, insightful and relevant to contemporary debate’ – Clare Kane, author of Dragons in Shallow Waters
‘A tour-de-force and a fascinating debut that leaves us rooting for Asiyah’s quest and projecting our hopes onto it.’– Nacho Mbaeliachi
‘The polarity of a first love and sexual experience juxtaposed with the losing of innocence and the making of a woman … stepping into her power.’ – Naz Khan

EDIT (03/06/2026). This Substack may be helpful if you’ve never done an early (ARC) review before: https://literaryinspired.substack.com/archive?sort=top
Many thanks!
With writerly appreciation,
Amanda
P.S. Reputation’s release date is August 30, so once you get your copy in June, you’ve got time for a relaxed R&R (read-and-review!)
P.S.S. I haven’t written much about my novel on Substack, except for this, which, relatively speaking, got a lot of love.
The Memetic Nature of the Novel
I was stunned by the similarities between my unpublished manuscript and Breanne McIvor’s The God of Good Looks.
But in the months to come, I promise there’ll be more about how this novel came to be.
Till then,
Happy Reading!
